No, Level 1 projects and virtual design competitions are free to any
registered user or school. Just sign-up.
Level 1 projects range in complexity from middle school through high school.
Instructors are encouraged to review the project specifications to determine
whether their students are up for the challenge.
Yes, and we encourage it. Simply complete the "Project Submission" form
located in the User Area, and we'll review it for submission. Exceptional
project ideas are eligible for Level 2 publication resulting in rewards such as
scholarships or free product for your school.
No, there is no cost involved in submitting your entries in a Virtual Design
Contest sponsored by this website. Other non-virtual competitions usually
require an entrance fee.
While much of the EAS site is free of charge, a licensing fee is required to
access the features of Level-2. This fee helps cover the cost of
developing and maintaining this site as well various monetary awards.
That will depend greatly on the project (see sample projects). Applied
Technologies offers a variety of affordable and reusable design and modeling
packages that can make the projects run much more smoothly.
Projects are typically open-ended, and no two are exactly the same.
However, the instructor's notes for each project provide various
applications for a variety of content areas such as science, technology,
engineering, math, physics, communication, even history and social studies!
