Prototyping Packages - To order: Call 1-800-334-4943

Mechatronics Prototyping Package-HD - (heavy-duty metal)
This package includes hundreds of modeling components designed specifically for building complex mechatronic devices.  If your solution requires mechanical components controlled by electronic devices, this package is what you need.  A single package should provide enough materials for one design team to complete most Mechatronics related EAS challenges.

Description Item# Price:
Single Package
(team of 4-6 students)
EAS-0677 $995
Classroom Set
(6 teams of 4-6 students)
EAS-0627 $5,995
Programming Option* EAS0765 $100

An EAS Mechatronics prototyping package includes:
  • mechanical components - chains/sprockets, gears, pulleys, levers, bearings, shafts, linkages, etc.

  • electronic devices - motors (servo and standard), light sensors, bump sensors, momentary switches, range finder, optical shaft encoder, potentiometer, etc.

  • metal building components - bars, plates, shafts, bearings, linear slides, gear boxes, threaded rod, ball studs, etc.

  • hardware - screws, nuts, washers, spacers, rivets, etc.

  • 1-800 Toll Free Support

*Programming option includes a computer control module, cables, and programming software.

Structural Prototyping Package-LT -Light-Duty (wood, PVC, plastics, etc.)

This package includes many traditional structural modeling materials that can be used to solve EAS challenges.   A single package should provide enough materials for one design team to complete several structures related EAS challenges.  The "classroom set" should provide enough components for six (6) designs teams of 4-5 students working simultaneously to complete several models.  some of these materials are consumable and must be replaced. The sheer randomness of students doing engineering challenges makes it impossible to predict how long supplies will last

Single Package
(team of 3-5 students)
EAS-7537 $695
Classroom Set
(6 teams of 3-5 students)
EAS-7532 $3,995

What do I get?
  • Metal Building Components - bars, plates, shafts, linear slides, etc.

  • Proprietary Genesis bread-boarding platforms.

  • Hardware - screws, nuts, washers, spacers, rivets, etc.

Note: Unlike wooden structural modeling components, these can be disassembled and reused again and again.  The initial investment may be greater, but metal pays for itself over and over again.  In addition, not a single tree gave its life for these metal components.

Structural Prototyping Package-HD -Heavy-Duty (metal, heavy plastics)

This package includes hundreds of modeling components designed specifically for building structures.  If you are designing anything that requires a significant supporting structure, this package is a must.   A single package should provide enough materials for one design team to complete most structures related EAS challenges.  The "classroom set" should provide enough components for six (6) designs teams of 4-5 students working simultaneously

KITS

To order: Call 1-800-334-4943
Genesis Rover Chassis Kit (Gennie) - COMING SOON!

The Genesis Rover kit was designed to provide a starting-point for designing mobile robotic manipulators.  The idea is that a single chassis kit can be built which includes all necessary electronic hardware components to make it both computer controlled and radio controlled.  Multiple teams of students can then design and build manipulators (a separate kit - see next item below) on exclusive bread-boarding platforms independent of the chassis.  Student's manipulators are easily placed on the chassis, interfaced with the controller, and tested.  The goal is to reduce the cost (and assembly time) by allowing multiple teams to use one chassis to test their designs. The Genesis Rover provides a sturdy mobile robot base on which students can build manipulators.

The Genesis Rover kit features:

  • Exclusive (VEX) bread-boarding platforms.

  • Metal Building Components - chassis rails, shafts, bearings, standoffs, etc.

  • Hardware - screws, nuts, washers, spacers, rivets, etc.

  • Electronic Devices - motors (servo and standard), light sensors, bump sensors, momentary switches, optical shaft encoders, potentiometers, etc.

*You will want at least one copy of the programming software, but it is not necessary to purchase one copy for every chassis (unless multiple teams will be programming simultaneously).  Call for classroom license pricing.

Manipulator Kit (for use with the Genesis Rover Kit above)

Description:
The Manipulator Kit was designed to provide a large assortment of components for designing and building robot manipulators (arms or other devices).  The idea is that a single Genesis Rover chassis kit can be built which includes all necessary electronic hardware components to make it both computer controlled and radio controlled.  Teams of students can design and build manipulators (this kit) on exclusive bread-boarding platforms independent of the chassis.  Student's manipulators are easily placed on the chassis and tested.  The goal is to reduce the cost (and assembly time) by allowing multiple teams to use one chassis to test their designs.
